A fastener comprises a pin, and a grommet provided with cantilever parts spread by the insertion of the pin. In order to enable arbitrary setting of the ease of elastic deformation of the cantilever parts, the fastener has: a grommet (11) which is open at both ends, and which comprises a cylinder portion (15) attached to a flange portion (17) and having a plurality of cantilever parts (22) formed by a plurality of slits (21) extending from the tip of the cylinder portion; and a pin (12) of which one end is inserted into the cylinder portion. Each of the cantilever parts is provided with a convex portion (28) on a section facing the inside of the cylinder portion. The fastener (10) changes from an initial state, wherein the outer surface of the pin and the convex portions are separated, to a spread state, wherein the convex portions make contact with the outer surface of the pin and the cantilever parts flare in the external direction of the cylinder portion by the relative displacement of the pin towards the tip end of the cylinder portion. The width (W1o) of the slits on the outer surface side of the cylinder portion is different from the width (W1i) of the slits on the inner surface side of the cylinder portion.
