Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an Fe-Cr alloy that has high electrical resistivity, exhibits superior oxidation resistance at high temperatures exceeding 1000 °C, and is suitable for use as a resistance heating element, as well as an advantageous method for producing the same. The Fe-Cr alloy according to the present invention has a component composition in which the Si content and the Al content are simultaneously increased, and the Si content, the Al content, and the Cr content of the component composition satisfy the relationship in the following formula (1). In addition, the Fe-Cr alloy is produced by subjecting a plate material having an Si content of no more than 1.5 mass% to siliconization treatment via a thermal CVD method to obtain an Si content of 1.5 mass% to 10.0 mass%, inclusive. (1) 14.0 ≤ %Si + 1.15 x %Al + 0.35 x %Cr
