Abstract:
This feature amount calculation device calculates a feature amount indicative of optical characteristics of an object being measured in a flow cytometry method, said feature amount calculation device comprising: a signal information acquisition unit that uses at least one of a configuration for structured illumination in which illumination light from a light source is made into structured illumination light and is used to irradiate the object being measured and a configuration for structured detection in which modulated electromagnetic waves from the object being measured are structured and detected, to acquire signal information indicative of the change over time in the electromagnetic wave intensity generated in response to reception, by a light detector, of the modulated electromagnetic waves from the object being measured which is present in a light irradiation region irradiated with the illumination light from the light source; a region setting unit that sets, in the domain of waveform data based on the signal information acquired by the signal information acquisition unit, a region of the waveform data to be subjected to a process in which the feature amount is calculated; and a feature amount calculation unit that calculates the feature amount from the waveform data in the region set by the region setting unit.
