Abstract:
Disclosed is a feed-efficiency-improving agent that is safe and improves feed efficiency by means of being added to feed and the like for livestock, specifically for meat chickens and pig raising. The feed-efficiency-improving agent is characterized by containing β1,4-mannobiose, and a mannobiose can be used that is generated via the action of mannanase on a mannan-containing natural product such as copra meal, palm kernel meal, and coffee grounds. In this case, it is not necessarily needed to extract/refine the mannabiose; and mannose, another mannooligosaccharide, mannones that were not broken down, or the like may be included.
