Title:
FIBER-REINFORCED MOLDING MATERIAL AND MOLDED ARTICLE USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/230662
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides a fiber-reinforced molding material which comprises (A) a thickening material that contains, as essential starting materials, (a1) a vinyl ester resin, (a2) an unsaturated monomer, (a3) a polyisocyanate and (a4) a polymerization initiator, and (B) carbon fibers having fiber lengths of 2.5-50 mm, and which is characterized in that the thickening material (A) satisfies the conditions (1)-(3) described below as measured by a rheometer. (1) The maximum value of viscosity change ratio in the temperature range less than the temperature Xa showing the lowest melt viscosity A is 100-1,500 Pa∙s/°C. (2) The maximum value of viscosity change ratio in the temperature range not less than the temperature Xa is 1,000-10,000 Pa∙s/°C. (3) The lowest melt viscosity A is 10-1,000 Pa∙s, and the temperature Xa is 70-140°C. Since this fiber-reinforced molding material exhibits excellent fluidity during molding and enables the achievement of a molded article having excellent physical properties such as bending strength, this fiber-reinforced molding material is suitable to use in automobile components and the like.
