Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a fibrous-cellulose composite resin having high strength and a method for producing the fibrous-cellulose composite resin. [Solution] A fibrous-cellulose composite resin which comprises microfibrous cellulose, a resin, and an acid-modified resin, wherein the microfibrous cellulose is one obtained by replacing hydroxyl groups with carbamate groups, washing the resultant cellulose, and fibrillating the washed cellulose so as to result in an average fiber width of 0.1 μm or larger, the amount of by-products being 10% or less per 100 parts by mass of the carbamate-modified cellulose; and a method for producing the fibrous-cellulose composite resin, the method comprising a step in which a raw cellulose material and urea are heated to obtain a carbamate-modified cellulose, a step in which the carbamate-modified cellulose is washed, a step in which the carbamate-modified cellulose is fibrillated to obtain a dispersion of a carbamate-modified microfibrous cellulose having an average fiber width of 0.1 μm or larger, a step in which the dispersion and an acid-modified resin are mixed to obtain a mixture including the carbamate-modified microfibrous cellulose, and a step in which the mixture and a resin are kneaded together to obtain a composite resin.
