Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a microfibrous cellulose production method that allows production of a microfibrous cellulose having phosphate groups efficiently and with a high yield. The present invention relates to a production method for a fibrous cellulose having a fiber width of up to 1000 nm, the production method comprising: a step (A) for obtaining crosslinked phosphorylated cellulose fibers by introducing phosphate groups into cellulose fibers and forming a crosslinked structure with the phosphate groups; a step (B) for obtaining crosslink-broken phosphorylated cellulose fibers by breaking a part or all of the crosslinked structure; and a step (C) for obtaining a fibrous cellulose having a fiber width of up to 1000 nm by performing a mechanical processing on the crosslink-broken phosphorylated cellulose fibers, wherein a crosslinked structure of 0.05-2.0 mmol/g is formed in the step (A), and the step (B) is a step in which hydrolyzation of the crosslinked structure is conducted in an aqueous solvent of at least pH3.
