Abstract:
A field apparatus (1a) performs control of a controllable element and other predetermined functions in accordance with an instruction signal received by analog communication means (17) which can receive an external analog signal. For this, the field apparatus (1a) includes a diagnosis block (11) for performing diagnosis of the field apparatus itself or the controllable element and bidirectional digital communication means (22) for outputting outside a digital signal indicating the diagnosis result and receiving a digital signal from outside. Operation power is supplied via selector means (18, 53) which can switch between power supplied by the analog communication means (17) and power supplied by the bidirectional digital communication means (22).
