Abstract:

A field flow fractionation device comprises a separation channel, a carrier fluid supply unit, a separation membrane, a waste liquid chamber, a crossflow flow rate regulator, and a carrier fluid supplementation unit. The carrier fluid supplementation unit is configured to supplement a carrier fluid stream that has passed through the separation membrane with another carrier fluid stream at a carrier fluid supplementation location set further upstream than the crossflow flow rate regulator so that the flow rate of the carrier fluid flowing into the crossflow flow rate regulator is larger than the flow rate of the carrier fluid passing through the separation membrane.
