This film heater comprises a transparent conductive film (13) and first and second electrodes (11, 12). The transparent conductive film has a heat generating portion (131) that is energized by the first and second electrodes to generate heat. The outer edge (131a) of the heat generating portion includes a short side (S1), a long side (S2), and first and second hypotenuses (S3, S4). The first and second electrodes respectively have a plurality of first connecting portions (111) and a plurality of second connecting portions (121) corresponding to a plurality of first ports (P11-P15) and a plurality of second ports (P21-P26), respectively. Each of the first and second connecting portions is connected to the transparent conductive film such that a current flows between the inside of the heat generating portion and the first and second connecting portions via the corresponding first and second ports. A plurality of first and second current suppression portions (134, 135, CX, CY, CZ, 14) that suppress the flow of current between the inside and outside of the heat generating unit via the region between the plurality of first and second ports are arranged. In each of a part or all of the plurality of first ports, a current flows between the first port and at least two second ports through the heat generating portion.
