Abstract:

A filter member in which an annular filter film having excellent characteristics is entirely formed on one glass substrate is fabricated and then cut along a line through the center of the annular of the filter film to produce a plurality of filter members in which the filter films having the excellent characteristics are formed in a generally arcuate shape. These filter members thus divided are cut at right angles with respect to the chord of the arc to produce a plurality of filter member strips (140, 140, ... ). After this, these filter member strips are rearranged so that their filter films (120a, 120a, ... ) of the excellent characteristics may be substantially linearly arrayed. These rearranged filter member strips are cut at right angles with respect to the former cutting direction, thus producing target filter chips. If the filter film is an optically multi-layered film, moreover, the filter members are placed on a stage with the films up, and are cut with a dicing saw.
