Abstract:

A filtering apparatus capable of suppressing blockage in a filter in order to improve maintainability and a washing machine comprising the filtering apparatus. The filtering apparatus (20) comprises: a housing (21); a filter (23) disposed inside of the housing (21); a rotating body (32) disposed inside of the filter (23); and a scraping and retrieval component (33) inside of the filter (23) and supported by the rotating body (32). The filter (23) retrieves, from the retrieval port (25F) and into the filter (23), the water flown into the housing (21), and captures, in an inner circumferential surface portion (23A), the foreign matters contained in the water. The rotating body (32) rotates by means of the water potential of the water retrieved from the retrieval port (25F) and flown into the filter (23). A scraping and retrieval component (33) can slide between a forward position approximate to the inner circumferential surface portion (23A) and a backoff position distant from the inner circumferential surface portion (23A), and is applied with a force thereon by a force-applying component (49) toward the backoff position.
