Disclosed are a filtering system and a dishwasher. The filtering system comprises: a housing (1) that is provided with a first cavity, a second cavity, and a channel (2) communicated with the bottom of the first cavity and the bottom of the second cavity; a crushing assembly (3) that is disposed in the first cavity and suitable for crushing a water-residue mixture entering the first cavity; a filtering assembly that is rotatably disposed in the second cavity, and the opening of the filtering assembly facing downwards towards the channel (2); a first suction member (4) that is communicated with the second cavity to suction the crushed water-residue mixture into the filtering assembly by means of the channel (2); and a second suction member that is communicated with the first cavity, when the first suction member (4) stops working, the second suction member being suitable for suctioning residues out of the first cavity and/or the second cavity by means of the channel (2).
