Abstract:
A device which, with a thin module using a method of irradiating light from below, causes the direction of irradiation of a near-infrared illumination to change, selects an image of an appropriate angle, and carries out vein authentication. [Problem] To implement a finger vein image photography method and control method which can be applied to a thin device such as a smartphone. [Solution] Provided is a finger vein authentication device, comprising an image capture unit, an illumination unit which is positioned in approximately the same plane as the image capture unit and which irradiates a finger which is imaged by the image capture unit with a light which has a variable irradiation angle, an image selection unit which selects an image based on the irradiation angle of the illumination unit, and an authentication processing unit which carries out an authentication process, using the image which has been selected by the image selection unit.
