Abstract:
Provided are a fire retardant, a fire retardant resin composition and an insulated electrical wire that exhibit suitable low-temperature characteristics and excellent cold resistance, and can be produced efficiently. The insulated electrical wire is configured by coating and insulating the periphery of a conductor using a fire retardant resin composition that comprises at least a base resin and a fire retardant obtained by treating the surface of magnesium hydroxide by means of a surface treatment agent having a crystallinity index of 60% or higher.
