Abstract:
The present invention provides a fireproof lumber production method with which drying time can be shortened and lumber exhibiting a high degree of fireproofing properties can be obtained. A method for producing fireproof lumber according to the present invention includes (a) a step for impregnating lumber with an aqueous solution of a fireproofing agent; and (b) a step for irradiating the lumber that has been impregnated with the aqueous solution of a fireproofing agent with microwaves and drying the lumber so as to obtain fireproof lumber. This method for producing fireproof lumber preferably further includes (c) a step for irradiating the lumber with microwaves and drying the lumber prior to the step (a). This method for producing fireproof lumber preferably further includes (d) a step for subjecting the lumber that has been impregnated with the aqueous solution of a fireproofing agent to natural drying between the step (a) and the step (b).
