FIREPROOFING TREATMENT SOLUTION AND FIRE RETARDANT HAVING BEEN TREATED THEREWITH

When a boron compound is used in a fire retarding treatment solution, there would occur such disadvantages that the solubility thereof is low to lead, due to low concentration, to deterioration of combustion suppression effect and that leaching thereof is caused by water solubility. It is intended to provide a fireproofing treatment solution that can resolve such disadvantages. There is provided a fireproofing treatment solution obtained by adding phosphoric acid and a silane coupling agent to a weakly acidic or weakly alkaline aqueous solution of metal salt containing a boron compound to thereby produce a mixed aqueous solution and adding antimony tartrate and a plant extract composed mainly of a polyphenol compound to the mixed aqueous solution. This fireproofing treatment solution can be widely applied to members containing cellulose as a main component, such as wood, paper and natural fibers. This fireproofing treatment solution can enhance chemical fixation to thereby realize enhancement of combustion suppression effect and can minimize the occurrence of leaching. Further, the addition of antimony tartrate realizes enhancement of leaching suppression effect.
