Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of smart devices. Disclosed are a firmware update method and system for a smart device. The method comprises: when an activation flag of a firmware loader of a smart device is set, executing a RESET operation to reset the smart device; establishing an HTTPS channel between the firmware loader and an upgrade server on the basis of a communication module of the smart device, and completing a TLS handshake; the upgrade server sending new data of firmware, which needs to be updated, to the firmware loader by means of the established HTTPS channel; and the firmware loader performing a target area data update on the basis of the new data of the firmware, so as to complete the firmware update of the smart device. By means of the present invention, the space occupied in a smart device during an upgrade process can be effectively reduced, thereby ensuring that the firmware upgrade of the smart device is successfully performed.
