Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a flame-resistant nonwoven fabric containing a flame-resistant polyphenylene ether fiber and a reinforcing fiber, and a flame-resistant molded body containing a flame-resistant polyphenylene ether and a reinforcing fiber, with a higher degree of flame resistance and heat resistance; and methods for manufacturing the same. The present invention pertains to: a flame-resistant nonwoven fabric characterized by containing a flame-resistant polyphenylene ether fiber and a reinforcing fiber, the absorbance height ratio (A/B) between the absorbance height A at wavenumber 1732 cm -1 derived from the C=O stretching vibration and the absorbance height B at wavelength 1600 cm -1 derived from skeletal vibration due to stretching between carbon atoms in the benzene ring as measured by infrared spectroscopy of the flame-resistant polyphenylene ether fiber being 0.42 or above; and a method for manufacturing the same. The present invention also pertains to: a flame-resistant molded body characterized in containing a flame-resistant polyphenylene ether fiber and a reinforcing fiber, the absorbance height ratio (A/B) between the absorbance height A at wavenumber 1732 cm-1 derived from the C=O stretching vibration and the absorbance height B at wavelength 1600 cm-1 derived from skeletal vibration due to stretching between carbon atoms in the benzene ring as measured by infrared spectroscopy of the flame-resistant polyphenylene ether fiber being 0.42 or above; and a method for manufacturing the same.
