Abstract:
The present invention relates to a flame-retardant acrylic fiber including 100 parts by mass of an acrylic copolymer and 1-18 parts by mass of a zinc stannate compound, the average particle diameter D50 of the zinc stannate compound being 0.5 µm or greater. The present invention also relates to a flame-retardant fiber aggregate including 30-80 mass% of the flame-retardant acrylic fiber and 20-70 mass% of another fiber selected from the group consisting of natural fibers and synthetic fibers. The present invention thereby provides: a flame-retardant acrylic fiber that has increased flame retardant properties while being environmentally friendly, and that particularly is highly flame retardant even when used jointly with other fibers such as cellulose fibers; a method for manufacturing the flame-retardant acrylic fiber; and a flame-retardant fiber aggregate and flame-retardant work clothing which include the flame-retardant acrylic fiber.
