Abstract:
Provided is a flat switch in which, even when a switch box needs to be installed so that an end part of the opening side of the switch box is not to be positioned any deeper than a predetermined distance relative to a presentation surface that is a wall surface, the flat switch will be kept from protruding and adversely affecting the appearance. This flat switch (1) is installed on a switch box (100) having a bottom part (101) and a vertical wall part (102) provided along the outer periphery of the bottom part (101), wherein: the switch box (100) is installed so that a peripheral edge part (102A) will not, relative to a presentation surface that is a wall surface, be positioned any deeper than a predetermined distance in the depth direction of the wall from the presentation surface; and the flat switch (1) comprises a sensor unit (20) in which, once the flat switch (1) has been installed, the thickness of the thickest part in the direction from the peripheral edge part (102A) of the switch box (100) to the bottom part (101) is greater than a predetermined distance, while the outer shape is smaller than the inner shape of the peripheral edge part (102A) of the switch box (100).
