Abstract:
A damping part (20) of a shock absorber (100) comprises: a damping valve (41) that is provided to a second fluid passage (22) and in which the resistance imparted to the flow of a hydraulic oil that passes through the second fluid passage (22) changes according to the position of the damping valve (41); a bypass passage (51) that is connected to the second fluid passage (22) so as to bypass the damping valve (41); a solenoid valve (60) that is provided to the bypass passage (51) and controls the flow of hydraulic oil of the bypass passage (51) to guide the hydraulic oil to the damping valve (41) as pilot pressure for switching the position of the damping valve (41); a bottom-side aperture section (70a) that imparts a resistance to the flow of hydraulic oil guided to the solenoid valve (60) from the second fluid passage; and a rod-side relief valve (72b) that opens when the pressure in the bypass passage (51) reaches a prescribed relief pressure, thereby allowing the pressure in the bypass passage (51) to escape through the second fluid passage (22) to the rod-side chamber (2).
