Abstract:
This fluorescent plate comprises a fluorescent phase for emitting fluorescent light via excitation light, a light transmission phase for transmitting excitation light, and a plurality of voids surrounded by the fluorescent phase and the light transmission phase, wherein the average ratio of portions of the outer periphery of the voids contacting the fluorescent phase relative to the entire outer periphery, in a cross-section of the fluorescent plate including cross-sections of the voids, is greater than the area ratio of the fluorescent phase with respect to the total of the fluorescent phase and the light transmission phase occupying the fluorescent plate in the cross-section of the fluorescent plate including the cross-sections of the voids.
