Provided is a fluorescent tube capable of illuminating brightly a body to be illuminated. A fluorescent tube (10) having a tube main body (100) in an endless shape is mounted in an electrodeless lighting device (20). The tube main body (100) of this fluorescent tube (10) is made of polycarbonate or polyethylene. In a transversally sliced cross section, the illuminating surface of the tube main body (100) is formed into a triangle by a first illuminating surface (101) serving as a facing illuminating surface oriented toward the body to be illuminated, and a second illuminating surface (102) and a third illuminating surface (103) covered by a shade (22). Since the first illuminating surface (101) of the tube main body (100) is the facing illuminating surface oriented toward the body to be illuminated, the light can be illuminated onto the body to be illuminated, the illumination of the light being roughly straight. Consequently, since the body to be illuminated can be illuminated brightly relative to the periphery of the body to be illuminated, the intensity of the illumination onto the body to be illuminated can be improved.
