Abstract:
Provided are fluorine-containing titanium oxide-nanosilica composite particles consisting of a condensation product of a fluorine-containing alcohol represented by general gformula RF-A-OH (here, RF denotes a perfluoroalkyl group having 6 or fewer carbon atoms or a polyfluoroalkyl group constituted by substituting some of the fluorine atoms in the perfluoroalkyl group with hydrogen atoms and containing terminal perfluoroalkyl groups having 6 or fewer carbon atoms and perfluoroalkylene groups having 6 or fewer carbon atoms, and A denotes an alkylene group having 1-6 carbon atoms), an alkoxysilane, titanium oxide, and nanosilica particles. These fluorine-containing titanium oxide-nanosilica composite particles can be produced using a fluorine-containing alcohol, which is easy to handle, without the difficulty involved with handling hydrogen fluoride, and can prevent a deterioration in the performance of titanium oxide as a photocatalyst even when a product is subjected to heat treatment at high temperature.
