Liquid crystal compounds each having a wide temperature range of the liquid crystal phase, a low viscosity and a large elastic constant ratio; liquid crystal compositions containing the same; and liquid crystal display devices constructed by using the compositions. The fluoroalkenyl derivatives are represented by formula (1), wherein A1, A2, A3 and A4 independently represent each trans-1,4-cyclohexylene or 1,4-phenylene; Z1, Z2 and Z3 independently represent each -(CH2)2-, -CH=CH-, -CC- or a covalent bond; Q represents H or F; 1 represents an integer of from 1 to 5; m, n and o independently represent each an integer of from 0 to 5; and p and q independently represent each an integer of 0 or 1, provided that each element constituting the compound may involve one selected from among the isotopes thereof.
