Abstract:
Provided are: a fluorocopolymer dispersion which is capable of giving articles having excellent water-and-oil repellency and being less apt to suffer a decrease in the water-and-oil repellency by an alkali, etc. and which exerts little organic-solvent influence on the environment; a method for producing the fluorocopolymer dispersion; and an article which has excellent water-and-oil repellency and is less apt to suffer a decrease in the water-and-oil repellency by an alkali, etc. The fluorocopolymer dispersion comprises an aqueous medium and a fluorocopolymer dispersed in the aqueous medium, wherein the fluorocopolymer comprises units based on the following monomer (a) and units based on the following monomer (b), the proportion of the units based on the monomer (a) being 20-60 mol% with respect to all the units constituting the fluorocopolymer, and the fluorocopolymer has a number-average molecular weight of 10,000-100,000. Monomer (a) is a compound represented by CH2=CH-Rf (Rf is a C1-8 perfluoroalkyl group). Monomer (b) is a monomer copolymerizable with the monomer (a).
