Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fluorophore that emits a red color, a light-emitting element using the fluorophore, and a light-emitting device that uses the light-emitting element. A fluorophore represented by the general formula Cax+yEuySiAlN3, the fluorophore containing Eu as an activating element and having a portion of the Ca element substituted by Eu, wherein x + y is 1-1.1 inclusive, y is 0.004-0.012 inclusive, the lattice constant (a) of the fluorophore is 0.9747-0.9770 nm inclusive, the lattice constant (c) of the fluorophore is 0.5050-0.5055 nm inclusive, the Ca content is 27.8-28.8 mass%, the solid-solution oxygen content is 0.3-1.2 mass% inclusive, and the Eu content is 0.4-1.2 mass% inclusive.
