Abstract:
This invention provides a flux for brazing aluminum materials which is capable of brazing an A5052 alloy containing 1.5 wt% or more magnesium even when an Al-Si eutectic alloy (which contains 7-12 wt% of Si, is an A4343 alloy or A4047 alloy, and starts to melt at approximately 577-615°C) is used as the brazing material. This flux for brazing aluminum materials comprises LiF, AlF3, and CsF and is characterized specifically by being prepared such that, in the triangular coordinates indicating (mol% of LiF, mol% of AlF3, mol% of CsF), the composition of the three components is within the range enclosed by four lines, the line C connecting (30, 0, 70) and (30, 70, 0), the line (1) connecting (31, 33.5, 35.5) and (51,5, 22.5, 26), the line (2) connecting (32.5,28.5,39) and (49,21.5,29.5), and the line (3) connecting (57.5,42.5,0) and (57.5,0,42.5), exclusively of the points on line C.
