Abstract:
Provided are: a flux for soldering that brings about flux residues which, even when exposed for a long period to thermal cycling which involves a maximum temperature as high as 150ºC, as in the engine room of an automotive vehicle, can be inhibited from cracking; and a soldering paste composition including the flux. The flux for soldering comprises a synthetic resin, an activator, an organic solvent, and a thixothropic agent, and is characterized in that the synthetic resin comprises a triblock copolymer of a methacrylic ester giving a glass transition temperature of 100ºC or higher with an acrylic ester including an alkyl moiety constituted of a C3-6 linear chain. The soldering paste composition including the flux for soldering is used.
