Abstract:
[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing a homogeneous foam having exceptional mechanical properties, the foam being such that micronized cellulose fibers are uniformly dispersed in a foam having a thermoplastic resin or rubber as a main component. [Solution] This foam is characterized by: containing modified cellulose fibers (A) covalently bonded with a diene polymer, a thermoplastic resin and/or rubber (B), and a diene polymer (C) having functional groups capable of covalently bonding with cellulose fibers; the fibers (A) being micronized; the fiber (A) content being 0.05-20 mass%; and the glass transition point of the thermoplastic resin and/or rubber (B) being present at a temperature from -130°C to 120°C.
