Abstract:
This focus control device (10) includes: an image acquisition unit (11) that acquires an image of the interior of a living body; a subject of interest information acquisition unit (12) that acquires subject of interest information regarding a subject of interest from the image; a focus drive mode setting unit (13) that sets a focus drive mode on the basis of the subject of interest information; and a focus control unit (14) that performs focus control on the basis of the focus drive mode. The focus drive mode setting unit (13) sets the focus drive mode to an autofocus (AF) mode when a subject of interest is detected and sets the focus mode to a first home position mode in which a focus lens (111) is held in a predetermined lens position when a subject of interest is not detected.
