Abstract:
A powerful ultrasonic therapeutic device which can perform cauterization allowing for variations in acoustic parameters depending on differences among individual patients in a cauterization therapeutic device field using the heating action of a powerful ultrasonic wave, and perform a ultrasonic imaging. The device is characterized in that phased-array vibrator consisting of a plurality of vibration elements (17) is used for cauterizing or as a transducer (1) for ultrasonic imaging/cauterizing to perform an in-body imaging, including an affected portion (3) imaging, and measure the acoustic parameters of biological tissues; and driving conditions for respective vibration elements (17) are determined from the results thus obtained and cauterizing focus information set by the operator, and the conditions are then set in respective drive amplifiers (4) for driving, whereby a powerful ultrasonic wave is applied to cauterize the affected portion, and at the same time temperatures are measured and so forth using ultrasonic imaging to monitor a cauterized conditions in the vicinity of the affected portion.
