Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to determine whether or not a foil film is present on a supply reel, on the basis of the rotation speed of a take-up reel. This foil transfer device comprises: a heating member (heating roller); a pressure application member (pressure roller); a supply reel; a take-up reel; a motor for driving the take-up reel; a first rotation speed detection unit capable of detecting the rotation speed of the take-up reel; and a control unit. When the driving of the take-up reel is initiated (S10), the control unit determines that a foil film is present on the supply reel (S13) in the case where the rotation speed detected by the first rotation speed detection unit is less than a first threshold (S12, Yes), and determines that no foil film is present on the supply reel (S14) in the case where the rotation speed detected by the first rotation speed detection unit is equal to or higher than the first threshold (S12, No).
