Abstract:
This food storage container (30) has: an odor sensor (35) that is provided outside of a storage chamber, and that detects a gas component; a switching unit for switching between a state of contact between the odor sensor (35) and a gas component originating from a stored object, and a shielded state in which contact between the odor sensor (35) and a gas component originating from the stored object is restricted; and a control unit for controlling the operation of the odor sensor (35) and the switching unit. The control unit operates the switching unit, carries out detection of the gas component in both the contact state and the shielded state, and determines the state of the stored object on the basis of a difference between the detection result in the contact state and the detection result in the shielded state.
