Abstract:
A foreign material removing device (1) removes foreign material from a lens (101) of a vehicle mounted camera (100) attached to a vehicle in such a way that the lens (101) of the vehicle mounted camera (100) is exposed outwardly of the body panel of the vehicle. The foreign material removing device (1) is provided with a single cylinder reciprocating pump (5) for generating high-pressure air and a nozzle (22) for emitting the high-pressure air towards the lens (101). The volume (Vo) of the internal space of the pump (5) is 10cm3 or less, and the time (t1) necessary for one discharge of the air in the internal space is 0.03 seconds or less.
