Title:
FREQUENCY CONVERSION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/027423
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a frequency conversion device provided with a frequency conversion element that can support both a Si-based MMIC and a GaAs-based MMIC by using a magnetoresistance element.  The frequency conversion device is provided with a frequency conversion element including a magnetoresistance element provided with a magnetization free layer, an intermediate layer, and a magnetization fixed layer, a magnetic field application mechanism for applying a magnetic field to the frequency conversion element, a local oscillator for applying a local oscillation signal to the frequency conversion element, and an input terminal for inputting an external input signal, which is electrically connected with the frequency conversion element.  The local oscillator includes a magnetoresistance element that can oscillate the local oscillation signal by outputting alternating-current voltage according to the resistance change thereof.
