Title:
FREQUENCY CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/001924
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Source terminals (S) of switch transistors (M1∙M2∙∙∙MN) are connected to an input terminal (IN). Each of N-number of local oscillation signals having different phases is respectively AC supplied to gate terminals (G) of the switch transistors (M1∙M2∙∙∙MN). Drain terminals (D) of the switch transistors (M1∙M2∙∙∙MN) are connected to an output terminal (OUT1). The frequency of the input signal is N times or nearly N times the frequencies of the local oscillation signals. Accordingly, a frequency converter can be achieved with which: power consumption can be reduced and efficient frequency conversion can be performed without receiving unnecessary signals; not only local oscillation signals having a frequency of ½ that of the input signal, but also those having a frequency of 1/N that of the input signal, can be used to perform frequency conversion into a baseband signal; and input signals having a frequency in the range of millimeter waves or above can be frequency converted into the baseband signal, even if the frequencies of the local oscillation signals are low.
