Title:
FRICTION MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/061373
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a friction material used in disc brake pads, obtained by molding an NAO type friction material composition that does not contain a copper component, which has good wear resistance after being subjected to a history of high temperatures and high loads, and which has a highly stable braking effect. In order to solve such problem, for a composition for friction material molding, used is a composition comprising: with respect to the total amount of the friction material composition, 10 to 40 wt% of monoclinic zirconium oxide having an average particle size of 1 to 8 μm, serving as an inorganic friction modifier; with respect to the total amount of the friction material composition, 1.5 wt% or more of resilient graphitic carbon, serving as a carbonaceous lubricant; and with respect to the total amount of the friction material composition, 2 to 8 wt%, in total, of calcined coke and said graphitic carbon, in which the ratio by weight of said resilient graphitic carbon and said calcined coke is 4:6 to 8:2.
