Abstract:

In a fuel cell system comprising a reformer, which reforms a starting material, and a fuel cell, which generates electricity using a fuel gas that contains reformed gas produced by the reformer, electrical generating efficiency is improved in a fuel cell with a relatively simple structure. A fuel cell system (1000) is equipped with a starting material supply unit, such as a pressurizing pump (10), which supplies a starting material to a reformer (20), a combustion unit (40), which heats the reformer (20) by burning the fuel gas that has not been consumed in generating electricity in the fuel cell (100), a temperature sensor (41), which detects the temperature of the combustion unit (40), and a control unit (50), which controls the quantity of the starting material supplied from the starting material supply unit to the reformer (20) based on the detected temperature, so that the temperature of the reformer (20) is maintained within a specified temperature range suitable for reforming the starting material.
