Abstract:
A fuel controlling device for an engine with a cylinder idling function comprising valve operation switching means (KL, KH) capable of selectively switching at least one of intake and exhaust valves from an operating state to a non-operating state or vice versa, operating mode setting means (A1) for setting as a target operation mode, a mode in which all the cylinders are put in operation and a mode in which one or some of said cylinders is or are put at idle in accordance with the information on the running engine, valve variable driving controlling means (A2) for switching and controlling said valve operation switching means (KL, KH) so that an operating state corresponding to a target operation mode is obtained, fuel supply means (FS) for selectively supplying fuel into a cylinder or cylinders so as to realize a target operation mode so set, switching judging means (A3) for judging whether or not switching from a mode in which one or some of said cylinders is or are put at idle to a mode in which all the cylinders are put in operation has been completed and then outputting a judgement signal and fuel controlling means (A4) for activating said fuel supply means (FS) in a mode in which one or some of said cylinders is or are put at idle when said judgement signal indicates that switching from a mode in which one or some of said cylinders is or are put at idle to a mode in which all the cylinders are put in operation has been completed, wherein a control can be made such that a forced operation is effected in a mode in which one or some of said cylinders is or are put at idle except a case where switching from a mode in which all cylinders are put in operation to a mode in which one or some of said cylinders is or are put at idle is positively effected.
