Abstract:
A fuel filter has a case having a tubular wall extending from the peripheral edge of a bottom wall and a filter element provided in the case. A not-yet-filtered fuel receiving chamber (C) is formed between the filter element and the case, or more precisely between the outer peripheral surface and lower end surface of the filter element, and the tubular wall and bottom wall of the case. In the upper end section of the case is formed the entrance for a not-yet-filtered fuel and the exit for a filtered fuel. At the lower end of the filter element, there are arranged a bottom that extends radially outward from the lower end and a tubular dam that extends upward from the peripheral edge of the bottom with an annular gap relative to the outer peripheral surface of the lower end section of the filter element.
