Abstract:
The present invention is equipped with an in-cylinder injection valve that inject fuel into the cylinders, and an intake passage injection valve that injects fuel into the intake passage. When it is determined that the accumulated deposits exceed a prescribed amount, fuel is injected forcibly by means of the in-cylinder injection valve (to execute a deposit removal control). If the pressure of the fuel supplied to the in-cylinder valve is equal to or greater than a prescribed value and the engine load is relatively high (YES in step 105), the deposit removal control is executed (step 106), but if the engine load is low (NO in step 105), the deposit removal control is not executed (step 107).
