Abstract:
Provided is a fuel injection pump that prevents engine startup defects due to freezing of moisture that has adhered to a control rack. This fuel injection pump is provided in a diesel engine, and is equipped with: a control rack that is arranged in a rack chamber formed between a pump head and a pump housing, and that adjusts the amount of fuel injected; a transmission shaft hole formed in the pump housing; a transmission shaft that is rotatably mounted in the transmission shaft hole so as to protrude into the rack chamber, and that is connected to a distribution shaft that supplies fuel to a fuel supply nozzle for each cylinder; and an oil supply path that is formed in the pump housing so as to intersect the transmission shaft hole, and that pumps lubricating oil between the transmission shaft and the transmission shaft hole. An intake oil passage for supplying lubricating oil in the oil supply path to the rack chamber is formed in the transmission shaft, and a valve that opens/closes on the basis of the temperature or pressure of the lubricating oil is provided in the intake oil passage or in the oil supply path on the upstream side of the intake oil passage.
