Abstract:

A fuel injection valve is provided with: a nozzle body having a nozzle hole provided at the front end thereof; a needle disposed slidably within the nozzle body and provided with a seat section which is seated at a seating position within the nozzle body; and a foam generation means for generating foam in the fuel which flows through the inside of the nozzle body. In a cross-section of the nozzle hole taken along the axis thereof, the inner peripheral shape of the nozzle hole includes a curve portion passing through either a region which is surrounded by clothoid curves expressed by R × L = a2, with R being the curvature radius, L being the length of the curve, a being a constant, or a region which is surrounded by curves approximated to the clothoid curves, the clothoid curves being a clothoid curve having the constant a set to 0.95 and a clothoid curve having the constant a set to 1.05.
