Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention are a full-dry tube unit using water-blocking powder, and an optical cable. The tube unit comprises a loose tube, and an optical fiber assembly and water-blocking powder which are accommodated in the loose tube. The loose tube at least comprises an innermost inner-layer tube. The inner-layer tube is made from polybutylene terephthalate or polycarbonate, and has an inner-surface friction coefficient of 0.21-0.34. The water-blocking powder is polymer precursor powder containing 0.3-1g/cm3 of sodium polyacrylate, and has a water absorption expansion rate of ≥12mm/min. Further disclosed in the present invention is an optical cable, which comprises said optical fiber tube unit. In the present invention, by means of surface treatment on the inner surface of the loose tube, the friction coefficient of the inner surface of the loose tube is controlled within a proper range, so that an enough amount of water-blocking powder having performance meeting the requirements is attached and fixed to the inner wall, which, while achieving a water-blocking effect, avoids the problems of water-blocking powder coming off and accumulation in erected cables and relieves the phenomena of bending-related accumulation. Furthermore, in cooperation with water-blocking powder size selection, water-blocking powder coming off and accumulation are avoided as much as possible.
