Disclosed are a fully automatic material receiving machine (100) and a material receiving method thereof, which can be used for continuously receiving a metal terminal material strip to form a material disc, the metal terminal material strip being provided with at least one connector extending in a conveying direction of the metal terminal material strip. The fully automatic material receiving machine (100) comprises: a machine body (10); a material receiving disc (20); a measurement mechanism (40), which can acquire the number of connectors within a preset distance; a shearing member (50), which can shear the metal terminal material strip; and a controller (60), which is respectively connected to the measurement mechanism (40) and the shearing member (50) so as to control the shearing member (50) to shear the metal terminal material strip according to the number of connectors measured by the measurement mechanism (40). The fully automatic material receiving machine (100) can realize continuous material receiving, and the connectors can be automatically cut off in the process of continuous material receiving, such that the production cost of continuous metal terminals can be effectively reduced.
