Abstract:
Disclosed are a function approximation device and method using a multi-level look-up table, and the present embodiment provides a function approximation device and method, which approximate function values for and functions by using a multi-level look-up table (LUT) on which the length of segments is differently set according to the amount of change in a function, in order to reduce an approximation error, when approximating a nonlinear function value on the basis of a piecewise linear approximation or a piecewise polynomial approximation.
