Abstract:
A funnel glass for a cathode−ray tube which has a chemical composition, in mass %: SiO2: 48 to 62 %, Al2O3: 1.4 to 4.1 %, PbO: 5 to 15 %, MgO: 0 to 2 %, CaO: 0.1 to 4 %, SrO 3 to 8 %, BaO: 3 to 8 %, ZnO: 0 to 2 %, Na2O: 4 to 9 %, K2O: 4 to 9 %, ZrO2: 0.3 to 2 %, TiO2: 0 to 1 %, CeO2: 0 to 1 %, Sb2O3: 0 to 2 %, and Fe2O3: 0.03 to 1 %, provided that a value of (SrO &plus BaO)&sol PbO is in the range of 1.0 to 3.2 and a value of Al2O3&sol PbO is in the range of 0.13 to 0.4, and exhibits a coefficient of absorption of X−ray of 40 cm−1 or more at 0.6 Å.
