Description:
FURNITURE COMPOSITION FOR RECREATIONAL VEHICLES

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a furniture composition for recreational vehicles.

Background Art

With particular reference to the furniture for caravans or yachts or other mobile living vehicles, the need is known and felt to use furniture compositions with small dimensions such as to allow an optimal use of the limited space available. In detail, this need is particularly felt with reference to the furniture compositions provided with tables commonly used inside recreational vehicles, as the dimensions of the supporting surface of such tables necessarily imply a not negligible size.

In particular, in order to overcome this drawback, the use is known of furniture compositions provided with movable and/or tilting tables which are adapted to be moved in order to reduce the overall dimensions when not used.

Furniture compositions of this type do, however, have some limitations and drawbacks related to the practicality of using the movable and/or tilting tables used in the furniture compositions of known type.

In fact, despite the fact that the table can be tilted or moved, the furniture compositions of known type are provided with tables that require complicated and uncomfortable maneuvers to be performed in order to tilt and/or move the table itself.

In addition, the furniture compositions of this type do have limitations and drawbacks related to the overall dimensions defined by the table.

In particular, the furniture compositions of known type comprise storage furniture specially made to accommodate the movable and/or tilting table. However, this storage piece of furniture is not insignificant in size and reduce the functionality of the furniture composition.

For this reason, the furniture compositions of known type comprise special compartments where the storage piece of furniture is arranged, so as to define, when the table is used, a living area only used with the table itself. Furthermore, the living area remains substantially separate from the other compartments of the furniture composition, such as, e.g. the kitchen area and/or the passenger area and the like.

These drawbacks considerably limit the practicality of use, the functionality and the exploitation of the space of the furniture composition with the risk of making it less interesting for the clientele.

Description of the Invention

The main aim of the present invention is to devise a furniture composition for recreational vehicles that simplifies the use of the furniture compositions of known type.

Another object of the present invention is to devise a furniture composition for recreational vehicles that allows improving the optimization of space with respect to the compositions of known type.

An additional object of the present invention is to devise a furniture composition for recreational vehicles that allows reducing the separation of the areas with respect to the compositions of known type.

A further object of the present invention is to devise a furniture composition for recreational vehicles that allows increasing the purposes of use of the same area with respect to the compositions of known type.

Another object of the present invention is to devise a furniture composition for recreational vehicles that allows overcoming the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art in a simple, rational, easy, effective to use and low-cost solution. The objects set out above are achieved by the present furniture composition for recreational vehicles having the characteristics of claim 1.

Embodiments of the Invention

With particular reference to these figures, reference numeral 1 globally indicates a furniture composition for recreational vehicles.

The furniture composition 1 for recreational vehicles 11 comprises at least one kitchen area 2 provided with a worktop 3 and with at least one piece of furniture 4, 5 comprising: at least one container body 4 defining a housing compartment 6; at least one table 5 mounted inside the housing compartment 6 and movable between at least one home configuration, wherein the table 5 is placed retractable inside the housing compartment 6, and at least one work configuration, wherein the table 5 extends at least partly outside the housing compartment 6 to define a supporting surface 7.

The term “recreational vehicles” means vehicles of the type of motor home, caravan, or the like, but they may also be of the type of yacht, boat or the like. Preferably, the worktop 3 extends substantially horizontally.

In the following discussion, the terms “horizontal” and “vertical” are used to indicate the arrangement of one or more elements of the furniture composition with respect to the ground, i.e. with respect to the flooring of the recreational vehicle 11, which, in the normal configuration of use of the vehicle itself, is arranged substantially parallel to the ground on which this vehicle rests.

The worktop 3 is of the type of a hob, provided with traditional means for preparing meals 18.

The table 5 is preferably of the type of a suspended table mounted sliding in a movable manner between the home configuration and the work configuration inside the container body 4.

Further embodiments of the piece of furniture 4, 5 cannot however be ruled out wherein the table 5 is of a different type, e.g. of the type comprising at least one sustaining element positioned resting on the ground in the work configuration. Preferably, the table 5 is of the type of a telescopic table provided with a plurality of sections associated sliding to each other in a movable manner to create a telescopic structure.

In the work configuration the table 5 defines a living area 8 coinciding with the kitchen area 2, as shown in Figure 2.

The table 5 is arranged in the proximity of the worktop 3 to define a single area for the use of the table 5 and the preparation of meals, allowing a user of the worktop 3 and a user of the table 5 to interact easily with each other.

Preferably, in the work configuration, the table 5 and the worktop 3 are arranged transverse to each other.

In particular, according to the embodiment of the furniture composition 1 shown in the figures, the table 5 and the worktop 3 are arranged orthogonally to each other to define a single substantially “L” shaped top.

Advantageously, the container body 4 defines an access opening 9 to the housing compartment 6.

This way, appropriately, the table 5 passes through the access opening 9 to switch from the home configuration to the work configuration and vice versa.

In addition, the piece of furniture 4, 5 comprises at least one closing/opening element 17 which is adapted to prevent/permit the access to the housing compartment 6. Preferably, as shown in Figure 4, the piece of furniture 4, 5 is of the type of a drawer.

Further embodiments of the furniture composition 1 cannot however be ruled out wherein the piece of furniture 4, 5 is of a different type, e.g. the type of a wardrobe or the like.

Furthermore, the container body 4 is preferably of rectangular prismatic shape, however, further embodiments of the piece of furniture 4, 5 cannot be ruled out, wherein the container body 4 is of different conformation, e.g. prismatic square, pyramidal, circular and the like.

Preferably, the closing/opening element 17 is of the type of a door hinged to the container body 4 by interposition of hinge means, not shown in the figures, so that the container body 4 can be closed and opened as desired.

Advantageously, the housing compartment 6 extends substantially horizontally with respect to the ground, so that the access opening 9 lies substantially on a vertical lying plane with respect to the ground.

This way, the table 5 is moved between the home configuration and the work configuration along a horizontal direction of movement A, along which the supporting surface 7 extends accordingly, as shown in Figure 3.

Further embodiments of the piece of furniture 4, 5 cannot however be ruled out wherein the housing compartment 6 and the access opening 9 are made differently, e.g. wherein the housing compartment 6 extends substantially vertically with respect to the ground and the access opening 9 lies on a horizontal lying plane with respect to the ground.

Conveniently, the furniture composition 1 comprises vertical movement means, not shown in the figures, of the piece of furniture 4, 5 along a vertical direction of movement B between at least a first predefined height and at least a second predefined height.

Preferably, the vertical movement means are adapted to move the piece of furniture 4, 5 between a plurality of predefined heights of greater or lesser value than the first and the second predefined height.

In particular, the value of the first and the second predefined height is measured with respect to the ground.

Preferably, the vertical movement means, not shown in the figures, are of the type of electromechanical movement means that can be controlled by a user. Advantageously, the furniture composition 1 comprises operating means of the vertical movement means.

Preferably, the operating means are of the type of a switch or the like.

In particular, the container body 4 comprises at least one movable top 10 arranged substantially coplanar to the worktop 3 when the piece of furniture 4, 5 is arranged at the first predefined height.

Preferably, the movable top 10 extends substantially horizontal and parallel to the ground and delimits the housing compartment 6 at the top.

According to the embodiment of the furniture composition 1 shown in the figures, the movable top 10 is preferably of the type of a supporting surface. Advantageously, when the piece of furniture 4, 5 is arranged at the first predefined height, the movable top 10 is arranged adjacent to the worktop 3 to define a continuation of the latter, as shown in Figure 4.

The kitchen area 2 also comprises at least one bed 12 and vertical shift means, not shown in the figures, of the bed 12 along at least one vertical direction of shifting C between at least a first vertical coordinate and at least a second vertical coordinate.

The vertical shift means are adapted to move the bed 12 between a plurality of vertical coordinates of greater or lesser value than the first and second vertical coordinate.

Preferably, the vertical shift means are of the type of electromechanical movement means that can be controlled by a user.

Advantageously, the furniture composition 1 comprises activation means of the vertical shift means, of the type of a switch or the like.

The bed 12 is movable between a concealed configuration, wherein it is placed at the first vertical coordinate and is inaccessible by a user, and at least one visible configuration, wherein it is placed at the second vertical coordinate and is accessible by a user, defining a bedroom area 13 coinciding with the kitchen area 2.

Conveniently, the second vertical coordinate coincides with the first predefined height. This way, the piece of furniture 4, 5 and the bed 12 can be positioned alternatively at the first predefined height.

Advantageously, the value of the first vertical coordinate is greater than the value of the second predefined height.

In other words, the bed 12 is placed above the piece of furniture 4, 5.

In addition, the bed 12 extends along a direction of extension D substantially orthogonal to the vertical direction of shifting C and the table 5, in the work configuration, extends along a direction of development E substantially orthogonal to the vertical direction of movement B.

In particular, the direction of extension D and the direction of development E lie substantially parallel to each other on the same vertical lying plane.

More in detail, the direction of development E substantially coincides with the horizontal direction of movement A.

This way, the bed 12 and the piece of furniture 4, 5 are movable along the same direction of displacement coinciding with the vertical direction of movement D and with the vertical direction of shifting C.

Advantageously, the furniture composition 1 comprises a plurality of beds 12 superimposed on top of each other and lying on horizontal lying planes substantially parallel to each other.

In particular, the value of the first and second vertical coordinate of each of the beds 12 is substantially greater than the value of the first and second vertical coordinate of the beds 12 below.

Similarly, the value of the first and second vertical coordinate of each of the beds 12 is substantially smaller than the value of the first and second vertical coordinate of the beds 12 above.

Moreover, in the visible configuration, the beds 12 are spaced apart from each other in order to define a bunk bed structure, as shown in Figure 6.

On the other hand, in the concealed configuration, the beds 12 are compacted and facing each other at the ceiling. Advantageously, the vertical shift means are configured to move each of the beds 12 independently.

Appropriately, the furniture composition 1 is adjacent to the driving area 14 of the recreational vehicle 11, traditionally provided with driving means 15 and with at least one seat 16.

In particular, the seat 16 is movable between a driving configuration, wherein it faces directly the driving means 15 to allow the user to control them, and at least one stopping configuration, wherein it faces directly the table 5 to allow the user to use the supporting surface 7. Advantageously, the driving area 14 comprises rotational means, not shown in the figure, adapted to rotate the seat 16 around an axis of rotation between the driving configuration and the stopping configuration.

It has in practice been ascertained that the described invention achieves the intended objects. In particular, it should be noted that the table fitted sliding inside the container body considerably facilitates the use of the table itself and the optimization of the space in the kitchen area compared to the furniture compositions of known type.

Moreover, in the work configuration, the table allows defining a living area coinciding with the kitchen area, thus increasing the optimization of space and functionality of the latter with respect to the furniture compositions of known type.

On the other hand, the movement means of the piece of furniture and the shift means of the bed make it possible to define a bedroom area that coincides with the kitchen area, further increasing the optimization of space and the functionality of the kitchen area with respect to furniture compositions of known type.
